Best Coffee Bourbon Jerky Recipe
Jerky is a staple in my life. A batch of jerky will last no longer that 24 hours before we hit the bottom of the box. Being a hunter, there are always cuts of meet where you either have left over or as with me, tired of grinding or stewing scraps, I turn to jerky for my go to utilization. For me, this is one of the best coffee bourbon jerky recipe. This is one of my goto recipes when I have some venison, elk, and beef or boar laying around. The coffee and bourbon complements any type of protein, especially elk and boar.
Ingredients and Prep
2 pounds of Venison sliced thinly with the grain
2 cup of french roast coffee (room temperature)
3/4 Cup Soy Sauce
1/2 cup bourbon
1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
1 teaspoon black pepper
1 teaspoon sea salt
- Mixed the thinly sliced venison with all the above ingredients in a zip lock bag.
- Refrigerate the mixture of 24-36 hours. The longer you allow the mixture to site, the stronger the coffee and bourbon flavor.
- Put in your smoker or dehydrator until the jerky is dry but still flexible (see below of smoking tips).
- Immediately place in a airtight container and enjoy.
